TCP Release week; wrapping it up! :)

Hi all, here are my 2 last cards for Release Week at The Cat's Pajamas. We have some awesome new sets and dies for you, and they are available now! I will post graphics of all the sets/dies at the bottom of this post. These were the 2 cards that I showed off at The Pajama Party on Monday evening.

For this first set, I used "One Cupcake" and the "Bitty Banners" CutUps. I used glitter paper woth the CutUps for some glitz, and some Lemon Divine Twine  to "hang" the banner from. I used some Liquid Pearls for cupcake sprinkles.

I also used a great product on this, one that I was given at CHA to try out. It's called the "Perfect Layers" tool, and you can get one here.  See the perfectly spaced mat behind Cupcake Bun? And the other perfect mat behind the main DP panel? I really enjoyed using this tool, I wasn't sure if I would or not, since I have always used a paper trimmer and the "eyeball method" for creating mats in the past. And, I'll be honest with you-my method is not foolproof and I sometimes end up with uneven margins. This tool is great, it's a set of three plastic "rulers." they aren't really rulers, but that's the best way I can describe it. Anyhow, each one has a lip of a different width. You just choose the width of mat you want, tape down your photo, or other element you are trying to mat, and line it up with one of these. Then, slice your mat with an exacto knife. Of course, you will want to use a cutting mat underneath. But it really is simple, and takes all the guesswork out of cutting mats. :)

My second card is using the set "At Your Service." A cute little builder set, the bear holds a tray and you can stamp whatever item you'd like her to be serving up! Too cute. I gave her a present to hold. And also used the "Framed Up" CutUps.  I used a little glassine bag to hold a gift card on the front of the card. And, some more Divine Twine in Aqua! :)

And here's the rest of the new collection!

Thanks for popping by! September is looking to be a wee bit crazy in my world, so posts will be sporadic for a bit. I've started teaching theater again (expanded my program this year!) and we are still adjusting to my oldest son's busy sports schedule as he is doing triathlon and cross country at the moment.... SO grateful for good friends that are willing to carpool! It makes the craziness manageable! :)

TCP Release Day Blog Hop!! "Lickable" (TCPTUESAUG13)

Hey friends! Today is RELEASE DAY at The Cat's Pajamas! So we are having a Blog Hop to celebrate! You should have come here from Debbie's blog if you didn't and would like to start the Hop at the beginning; please go to Alma's blog to start the Hop.

It is also Tuesday, and my Hop card correlates with this month's TCP Tuesday Challenge!  Here's a bit more about the challenge from the Top Cat herself. Alma:

"It's Tuesday! Which mean that it's TCP Tuesday! That means it's time for The Cat Pack to strut their stuff in this month's challenge

This challenge celebrates that under-used envelope, the long, tall one. The legal sized one. The Number Nine.

The challenge is to create a card that fits in the Long, Tall, Envelope."

I used some products from this new release to make my card, I used "Lickable" stamps and the Chevron and Framed Up CutUps:

I took advantage of the looooong card to make a very taaaaaall ice cream cone for Mr. Bun. It is a builder set, and comes with the extra stack of ice cream stamp, so you don't have to mask off to do that. Very fun! It looks as if he'd better eat that ice cream fast before it topples.

I colored all the scoops of ice cream in different colors, and added some Stickles to the top of each scoop. I also added Stickles to Mr. bun's nose and the oval from the new Framed Up CutUps made a perfect place for the sentiment to land; SWEET!
The chevron die has no borders, so you can make it as long or as wide as you'd like. I added some length to it for this card. I decided I didn't want to entirely cover the patterned paper though.

Of course, after recently buying 7 new spools of Divine Twine, I am on a major Divine Twine kick this week! I think every peek card I've made has had some on it! I added an oversized button to my big loopy bow.

If you are Hopping, you should go to Chris' blog next! Happy Hopping, or ice cream cone eating, or whatever you enjoy!

Sneaky Peek Week: day 6 "Under The Stars"

Hi friends! Back today with another fun TCP Peek for you! This cute camping set is called "Under The Stars." I just love this pair of penguins snuggling in their tent!

I decided I wanted to mimic the shape of the tent at the top of the card, so I pulled out my Toppers CutUps, there's a wonderful one in here that is pitched just like a roof, or in this case, a tent! I also used my Cloud Border CutUp and some teal cardstock to separate the little scene at the bottom from the patterned paper at the top of the card.

I love these little penguins! they are just too cute! This was a very simple image to color and fussy cut.
A fun button and some Divine Twine made a cute accent at the peak of the card.

I hope you will go check out what my DT friends have cooked up with this cute set!
Hugs, Noelle

Sneaky Peek week: day 4 "Fly High"

Hi there! Back today with another TCP Sneaky Peek for all of you! Today's set is called "Fly High." All these new sets will be available for purchase Tuesday morning at 12am EST. I was so excited when I saw this one, because my husband works in the space industry, and as such my boys have always loved anything space-themed! Both my older two even had space-themed rooms for awhile. So, I have a soft spot for space related things. I also love the Rocket Bun stamp set called "Soar" we have at TCP, too. :)

here's a peek at the full set:

I also loved that this set had a "You are a Star!" stamp. I actually have been looking for one for quite some time since I teach theater to kids, and I always make cards for my little actors. This will be perfect! :)
Here's my "spaced out" moon card. I simply cut a large circle from So Saffron cardstock and dry embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. I used the "wrong side" (the debossed side if we are getting technical!) because I wanted it to resemble craters. I stamped the sentiment on the moon BEFORE I dry embossed it.

I stamped and colored Astro Bun and fussy-cut him out. I added silver pen to his suit and Crystal Effects to his mask and his carrot bubble. I added 1/2 of a hexagon sticker with the stars stamped on it and added some blue glitter to the stars.

This is a super fun set, I really love it! It would be great for boy birthday cards, or even a baby boy card would be cute with this in softer colors.

That's all for me today! Check and see all the darling cards my DT friends have for you, too! Have a wonderful day! :)

Sneaky Peek week: day 2 "Sassy Birthday"

Hi there, all! Very excited to bring you another card for Sneaky Peek Week at The Cat's Pajamas!  All the stamps from this new release will be available for purchase Monday night at midnight EST. When I saw this next set, I almost drooled, it was just too cute. the graphic style is so popular right now, and not only do I love the look, I love the sentiments, too! It's called "Sassy Birthday."

These stamps marry very well with the chalkboard technique that is popular right now. I have done a few chalkboard things, but just didn't feel I had the "right" stamps to make it work well. These are perfect! I heat embossed the white image on black cardstock, after that was done I actually rubbed a bit of white chalk over the image with my finger. I also used my new favorite dies that are also coming with this release the Framed Up CutUps.
I had just gotten these new papers from My Mind's Eye. they had a huge display of this chalkboard line at CHA, super cute! The paper with the frames was such a cute way to repeat the chalkboard and frame elements of the card.

I added some cool buttons, and some black Divine Twine as accents on the card.

And that is all for me today! Hope you will check out what my other DT buds have up their sleeves with this cute set! :)

Have a wonderful day!
Hugs, Noelle
