Scraps Card!

Hi all! Here is one of the cards I made earlier this month on my crafty jag. I was trying to challenge myself to use up things that were already made up but never used. I store all of this kind of thing on my tiered organizer that I made in Fall 2012.
When my boys were younger (and I was home a LOT more) I used to have a "scraps day" once or twice a year. The purpose of scraps day was to use up a big percentage of my scraps. I used to pull out one stamp set, that was pretty versatile and whip up as many cards as I could doing this. This card kind of came from the same place, I just wanted a quick card, and I wanted to use up some things that were just taking up space.
I already had this lil' cutie stamped and die cut (but not colored) and this flower was already made up, that had probably been sitting around for YEARS. All I had to do was find a great DP to tie it all together, and then color this cute gal to match. I just added some washi as an accent. The whole card took about ten minutes. And, it's a nice general card that I could use for any occasion by just adding an appropriate sentiment. Easy Peasy.
This was an old TCP stamp that we no longer carry. And the dies were the Toppers CutUps.

That's all for me today, thanks for stopping by!

It's Not Easy Being QUEEN!

Hi all, this was just another birthday card I needed for the month of February. I thought I would give my friend some bubble bath as a gift, and this would be a cute card to go with it.
This card uses the stamp set "Bubble Therapy," and "Simply Said."  I also used the Celebration Toppers, and the (of course, because I seem to use them on EVERY card!) the Framed Up CutUps.
I had only used Bubble Therapy one other time, and I knew I'd want to come back to it, I just hadn't figured out just what kind of card I wanted to make with it. This turned out fun, I'm normally not big on the color pink, but I really love this! :) I knew my friend does like pink, so that's why I started with the pink color scheme.
I added some Frosted Lace Stickles for bubbles and some rhinestones added some sparkle.

That's all for me today, friends! Hope you are doing well. :)

Birthday Bunny

Hi crafty peeps! I am here today to show you yet another birthday card. I had a wonderful week last week in my studio and made 12 cards! Woot! After about two months of feeling very "blocked," it sure felt good to be on a roll again! Anyhow, I have about 5 friend/family birthdays in a 10 day period in February, so I needed to make cards-perfect timing!

I used Birthday Bunny, and the die cut DP banner and frame were leftovers from other projects. The frame is from my most favorite ever die set the Framed Up CutUps. I practically use these on every card! It's almost ridiculous, except they just work so well with everything, it can't be helped. ;) I also dry embossed that striped DP with the Chevron CutUps.

I wanted soft colors, so I stuck to the pastel shades in my coloring. I decided at the last minute to do the bold Rich Razzleberry colored mat behind Birthday Bun.

Really, this was a very simple card that didn't take long at all. When you can use leftover bits and pieces, it really is a time saver. :)

I hope you like my card! Have a fabulous day!!

xoxo, Noelle

Here's my card:

I took the scrolly iron gate in the 3rd photo as inspiration for the inside of my card, I stamped the Lock and Heart rubber background stamp on the inside of the card in a tonal ink.

I added some DP to the front of the card and just die cut through both layers with the largest die in the Framed Up CutUps.

I die cut two birdies from scraps with the Home Tweet Home CutUps, and then sandwiched them around some Lemon Divine Twine with adhesive. Then I taped the twine to the inside of the card above where the frame was die cut. I wanted this little birdie to have some movement when the card was standing up, and he does!

The colors and patterns, as well as the elegant feel to the garden photos contributed to the card. I used The Tweetest Things stamps for the sentiment. Then added a few embellies, 2 green gems, some ribbon, and a wooden bird.

Well that is all for me today, I hope you can come play with us at The Cat's Pajamas!! :)

Happy Valentines Day 2014!

Hi friends! Popping in today with my final Valentine of this year, I made this one for my littlest man, he is a Wii junkie and asked for a "classic controller card." I think he was actually referring to one like these shaped cards in the final pic here. But I had loaned out my Cricut cartridges to a friend who was going on a crop, so I couldn't make him one of those. However, I do have these snazzy stamps from Papertrey Ink called "Game On." With three boys and all their friends birthday cards throughout they years, these have seen a lot of love! I do think this was my first Valentine with them however! ;)

I started out with die cutting some pinked circles (Paper Smooches Dies) and then I stamped one controller in red and one in pink. I joined the wires together with a red marker, and outlined the pink one with the marker as well. I added a sentiment from Love Potion and the Happy Valentine's day stamp is from Lil' Inker Flags and Tags.
Well, I hope you have a FAB Valentine's Day with your greatest loves!

Big Valentine's Hugs.
Noelle

I saw this fun tutorial on my Facebook feed through Splitcoaststampers, as soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to make my son a BACON Valentine! My oldest is a major bacon freak! I ordered this Shakin' Bacon clock for him as a Valentine's surprise. ;) The only difference between my bacon and hers is that I used a gold ribbon, I didn't have ivory, so I lost out on some of the marbled effect, but it still looks like bacon, don't you agree? :)
One of my dearest friends daughter also loves bacon! She and Ian are friends, I had two "bacon strips" left over from trying out the tutorial, so I offered to make the other one for Donna to give to her daughter. I went with a more girly/Valentine-y color scheme for hers.

I used Coolvetica, Simply Said, and the Heart from Build-A-Bingo. I also used the Framed Up CutUps.

Hope you can come play with us this week at The Cat's Pajamas, a love theme is perfect for this time of year, don't you think? :)

Hugs, Noelle
